Drop-Off and Pick-Up Information

Keystone has two different locations where Child Group Lessons meet. View our Base Area Map for Wayfinding and review our Getting Here & Parking Information.

  • River Run: River Run Village.
  • Mountain House: In front of Mountain House Kids Ski and Ride School in Mountain House village near the base of the Discovery Lift.

The lesson location, as selected at the time of booking, will be listed on your confirmation email. At both locations, the check-in process follows the same steps. Note that if you arrive late or at the wrong location we may not be able to accommodate you in a lesson for that day.

Step 1:
Equipment
  • If you are picking up rental gear, please arrive 60 minutes early or if possible, collect it the day prior.
  • At River Run, equipment is picked up at the River Run Kids Rental Office located in the village in the Silver Mill Building F3.
  • If you are bringing your own gear please skip this step.
Step 2:
Vouchers & Tickets
  • All lessons require a valid lift ticket or season pass to participate.
  • If needed, you can pick up pre-purchased lift tickets or request a pass reprint during lesson check-in.
Step 3:
Lesson Check-In
  • At River Run, once your child has all of their equipment proceed directly to the Left side of the River Run Gondola and check in under the Blue tent.
  • At both locations, arrive 30 minutes ahead of lesson time to allow time for check-in, guest experience support, and meeting your instructor.
Lesson Start and Pick-Up Times

Your child's instructor will share specific location and pick-up time details when you arrive as the following are subject to change:

  • Half-Day Morning Lessons: 9:15am - 11:45am
  • Half-Day Afternoon Lessons: 12:45am - 3pm
  • Full-Day Lessons: 9am - 3pm

  • River Run: All adult lessons will check in in the plaza in front of the Buffalo Lodge.
  • Mountain House: All adult lessons will check in at the Ski and Ride School sales office adjacent to Keystone Sports in Mountain House Village.

  • Mountain House: All private lessons meet in front of the Mountain House Ski and Ride School sales offices.

  • If you are running late for a Private Lesson, don't worry! Your instructor is yours for the duration of the time you have booked. If you anticipate being more than 30 minutes late please call +1-970-496-4170 to speak to a Ski and Snowboard School representative.
Lesson Times
  • Half-Day Morning Lessons: 9am - 12pm
  • Half-Day Afternoon Lessons: 1pm - 4pm
  • Full Day Lessons: 9am - 3:30pm

What to Expect

  • All group lessons are initially sorted by sport, age, and ability level.
  • The instructor will determine lesson plans based on the group's ability level and goals.
  • All participants will explore terrain aligned to their ability level while practicing new techniques at their own pace.
  • Lunch is included with Full Day Child Group Lessons only. For all other lessons, the instructor will provide breaks for food, water and rest as appropriate.
  • If your child brings snacks, please do not pack any that contain tree nuts.
  • Restroom breaks are built into the day, but all participants are encouraged to use the restroom prior to the lesson start time.
  • Lockers are available, first come first serve and are located:
    • River Run: In the Mountain Service Center directly across from the Gondola.
    • Mountain House: In the Mountain House Day lodge as well as in the Epic Mountain Rentals store in the Buffalo Lodge.

Gear
Guests are welcome to bring their own equipment and boots if already owned. If renting, please arrive an hour prior to your lesson start time to ensure enough time for pick up.

Helmets

A winter sport helmet is required for all lesson participants aged 14 and under, and 18 and under in designated children’s lessons. We strongly encourage helmet use for all ages. Helmets can be included along with a rental order or rented separately.

Clothing & Accessories
Waterproof snow pants and gloves or mittens are strongly recommended to keep you warm and dry. Goggles protect your eyes from the cold air and block UV light.
