Keystone Children's Center Reservations & Walk-Ins Available

Our early childhood education staff provides supervision and entertainment perfect for kids ranging from 3 months to 5 years old. Children are offered an exciting day of activities such as art, cooking, science, circle time, puppet play, story-telling, rest time and indoor/outdoor play dependent on weather conditions in accordance with the state. This program does not include ski lessons.

Location: SliverMil Building in River Run

Infant (3 months to 20 months) | Toddler Classroom (20 months to 35 months)

• Full Day 8:30AM - 4:00PM (includes two snacks & lunch)

Preschool (3 - 5 years old) Children must be able to use the bathroom on their own, in accordance with state licensing. Please no diapers or pull- ups.

• Full Day 8:30AM - 4:00PM (includes two snacks & lunch)
• Half Day AM 8:30AM - 12:00PM (includes AM snack & lunch)
• Half Day PM 12:30PM - 4:00PM (includes PM snack)

Infant/Toddler Classroom

• 6 diapers and wipes, please no cloth diapers.
• Minimum of 3 plastic bottles (No glass) with tops. Formula bottles need to be pre - mixed, we are unable to mix the formula on site. 
• Any food or snacks* - full meals are provided for children 12 months and older
• Change of clothes.
• Toddler class does not allow bottles, but sippy cups are welcome.
• Toddler class- Please bring snow clothes for outside play (snowsuit or snow pants, jacket, boots, hat & gloves). Our toddler class goes outside every day for 45 minutes- depending on weather. 

Preschool Classroom

• Change of clothes.
• Pull ups if needed, no diapers.
• Snow clothes for outside play (snowsuit or jacket & pants, boots, hat & gloves).

*We are a nut free facility (including Nutella, hazelnut and nut milks), please adhere to this policy when packing a snack for your child.

What time do I need to check in with my child?
Check in time for the childcare program is between 8:30am and 10:00am. The center will not admit children after 10:00am and your spot is only held until 10:00am.

What if I am running late?
Reservations cannot be guaranteed past 10:00am. If you find that you will not be able to arrive by 10:00am, please call. We will do what we can to accommodate you in as long as it does not interrupt our programs.

Does my child need to be potty trained to be in the Playschool Program (3 years old to 5 years old)?
Yes

Will my child go outside?
All children in the center in both the toddler and playschool programs will go outside every day, weather permitting. If the temperature is below 20 degrees with wind-chill, the children will stay inside and do gross motor activities indoors.

Will my child take a nap?
All children in the center, in all rooms will be given the opportunity to rest and or nap. State licensing requires that all children rest for at least 45 minutes while in group care. Cots, cribs, pack and plays and mats are provided dependent on the child's age. We provide blankets and sheets as well. Rest time for the toddler and playschool classrooms is from 12:45-2:45. This time allows children who need to sleep to do so and those who will just rest to have rest time and then engage in quiet table activities. We set up the room for nap by closing the curtains and playing quiet instrumental music or white noise. Teachers help children relax by patting or rubbing their backs.

My child has an allergy, what precautions will you take to ensure they are cared for correctly?
Children with an allergy must fill out a Colorado Health Record (Link) and have it signed by a Physician, emergency medication will be required to be in original packaging with prescription. We do not administer medication like Benadryl or Tylenol.

Do I need to bring my child’s immunization records?
No. We are governed by state laws but operate under a special license. This is not required.

What happens if my child is unhappy or cries all day?
Upon arrival, we initiate a transition period to help children acclimate. If a child remains inconsolable for more than 45 minutes, we will contact parents to pick up their child. A $75 cancelation charge will be applied and a refund will be issued. 

Can I ski at Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Copper or another ski resort close by while my child is at the Keystone Children’s Center?
No. The state requires that you to be on Keystone property while your child is in our care. If you wish to visit another ski area for the day, we suggest you make reservations at their onsite facilities. If it is determined that you are not on Keystone Property, you will be asked to immediately pick up your child and forfeit the remainder of your reservations.

Can I come in and visit my child throughout the day?
It has been our experience that the less transitions and separations we can have the child encounter throughout the day, the better their day is. We do not allow parents to come back to the center to visit their child and then drop them off again (unless you are breastfeeding). If you would like to come visit your child, we would suggest that at that time you pick them up for the day.

My child loves their tablet and/or phone. Can I bring it in for them to use throughout the day?
Yes, your child may bring in their tablet.

How do I cancel my reservation?
A full 48 hour cancellation notice is required prior to the first day of the reservation. Without a full 48 hours’ notice (that is by 10:00 am on the day preceding your reservation), your credit card will be automatically charged for one full day per child. A no call or no show on a reservation will be charged one full day cancellation fee and the rest of reservation will be canceled. No refunds will be given due to weather. You must call 970-496-4182, no email cancelation will be accepted.

What is my child is sick prior to check in, what are my options?
You must call the center to inform us that you are not planning to attend due to your child being ill. There is a fee for cancelling within 48 hours. For children who become ill during their stay with us, parents will be notified and the Health Department guidelines will be followed. If your child is not well enough to return on the following days, you will not be charged.

What should I bring for my child?
All children should bring a jacket, hat and closed toe shoes. The Infant class needs 6 disposable diapers and a package of wipes, 3 plastic bottles with tops with either premixed formula or breastmilk. Breastmilk needs to be in the bottles we cannot pour breastmilk bags into the bottles. Toddlers need 6 disposable diapers and a package of wipes. Toddlers and preschool classrooms all go outside, we do not allow children to stay inside during outside time. 

Can the Children Center apply diaper cream or sunscreen?
Yes, all topical products will be required to be in original packaging (in the box in came in) and parents will be required to fill out a Topical Form for application.

Can my child move to a different classroom?
No, in accordance with state licensing rules children will stay in their classroom based on their ages.
