Keystone’s Bluegrass & Beer Festival weekend is coming right up August 2 - 4 in River Run Village, so snag your tickets and get ready to get hoppy with a full weekend line up at one of the longest running beer festivals in the state of Colorado! Whether you want to chill out or kick it up a notch, we’ve got a weekend itinerary to satisfy everyone in your brew crew.

Summer Scenic Family Wagon Ride at Keystone

FRIDAY

Arrive at Keystone! Festival lodging packages are the way to go to make the most of your weekend mountain getaway. For more information and to book, visit our vacation deals page.

Afternoon into Dinner

Head to Lakeside Village to relax and enjoy Keystone’s 5-acre lake on a paddle boat, canoe, or from one of the many hammocks lining the shore. Challenge your friends to Spikeball, KanJam, or giant chess! Pour your own beer from the tap wall at Rathbone Taproom in the Adventure Center while you wait for your group to meet for a scenic Wagon Ride Dinner, where you’ll travel through Soda Creek Valley via horse-drawn wagon to a historic homestead for a hearty dinner spread of BBQ, cornbread, and all the fixins. Meet the horses and enjoy singing along to Western favorites played by an acoustic guitarist around the campfire before heading back to Lakeside Village with gorgeous views the whole way.

Or alternatively, start your bluegrass weekend early in River Run Village with the Keystone Concert Series. Participate in the Steep Brewing 2024 Cornhole Competition and enjoy a beer and dinner pairing from Graze & Torreys catering while listening to free music from the Shaky Hand String Band. Regardless of where you plan to spend night one, it’s hard to go wrong!

SATURDAY

Morning

Start your morning off with something sweet (or savory!) from the Crepe Stand in River Run Village. From fruit and Nutella to turkey and brie, there’s a treat for everyone. Take in the early morning air with a walk along the Snake River on Keystone’s paved rec path before returning to River Run for a day of bluegrass and beer!

Afternoon

Celebrate the best craft beers, string bands, summer and good company in the mountains at the state’s longest running craft beer festival! The Bluegrass & Beer Festival boasts free live music from 11:30 am – 5 pm on Saturday, with refreshing craft beers and unique pours from local Colorado breweries. Grab your ticket packages here!

Take a quick break from the music and brews by taking advantage of our Festival & Fly deal, where festivalgoers can show their wristband at the ticket office to receive a 50% off scenic gondola ride to the top of Dercum Mountain to enjoy panoramic views, slacklining and more!

Brews, bites and music await you when you return to River Run Village. Whether you prefer beer over seltzer or empanadas over pizza, there’s something ready for every palate. Be sure to catch Pert Near Sandstone from 3:30 - 5pm, an American/Roots stringband with the kind of sound and spirit you can only find in the pines of the Rockies.

Post-Bluegrass

If you haven’t already filled up on food from the many vendors scattered around River Run Village, grab dinner at Montezuma Roadhouse for contemporary American cuisine, or pop into Lime for a quesadilla and margarita or keep the refreshments flowing with a cold cerveza!

Mountain Biking in Keystone

SUNDAY

Morning

Start your morning with a breakfast sandwich and steaming cup of joe from Steep, a mountainside coffee shop, roastery, and brewery in the heart of River Run Village.

After a quick perk up, its time to embrace the three Bs: Beer, Bluegrass, Bike Park (though, not to be followed in quite that order).

Rent a full-suspension downhill bike from Keystone Sports and then test your mettle in the Keystone Bike Park: a downhill mountain biking experience spanning 28 trails over a 2,800-foot vertical drop. From smooth and fast flow trails to heart-pumping technical routes, the Keystone Bike Park has a challenge suited for every type of rider.

What better way to finish your adrenaline-filled morning than with a mountaintop lunch at 11,600 feet? Grab a caprese chicken sandwich from Summit House, nestled high atop Dercum Mountain with views of all of Summit County. If you’re a Summit County local, flash your state ID and enjoy 20% off your meal!

Afternoon

Enjoy one last lap down to River Run village to rejoin the Beer & Bluegrass festivities!

The music continues on day two with performances from Shadowgrass, Clay Street Unit, Armchair Boogie and more!

Looking for some family-friendly activities? Swing by the Beer & Bluegrass free KidZone, where younger festivalgoers can enjoy Frosted Flamingo crafts, a chalk zone, face painting, and even brave The Cave of Confusion!

The fun wraps at 5pm, when the winners of Best Brew and Best Dishes are awarded by popular vote!
